Definition:
Angel simply is defined as “heavenly messenger” or “messenger from God.”
Trivia
Angels are always around us. We have incorporated the word “angel” into our English language in many ways & in almost all aspects of our everyday life.
Take FOOD for example.
· Angel Food Cake: or angel cake, is a type of sponge cake originating in the United States[that first became popular in the late 19th century. It is so named because of its airy lightness that was said to be the "food of the angels".
Angel Cake:is a type of layer cake that originated in the United Kingdom. It consists of two or three layers of sweet sponge cake which is often coloured white, pink and yellow with a thin layer of white cream. It is traditionally sold in long bars or small slices.
The largest recorded Angel cake was 1 meter in length and 50 centimetres in width, It was baked in the English town of Bakewell in 1986
Angels on Horse Back: shucked oysters wrapped in bacon and broiled, grilled, or baked and served on toast points
The 'angels' are oysters, the saddle is the bacon, the 'horse' is the toast. Sometimes you will see substitutions for the oysters - scallops, shrimp, hot dogs
Angel Hair Pasta: very thin noodles
